Catalyst 1924, 2924, 2950 Trunking
routingbyrumor
Hi! I currently have a 1924 switch, a 2924 switch and a 2950. I want to trunk them and practice VTP. Since the 1924 cannot directly trunk to the 2950 since it doesn't support ISL can I trunk between the 2924 with the 1924 using ISL and then trunk the 2924 with the 2950 since it supports both ISL & dot.q so that all 3 routers can be in a VTP domain?

Man, I think you cannot trunk a 1900 to a 2950 by using another sw that support ISL or dot1q. we use vlan trunking so that we could identify other vlan in other switch that has vlan on it.
Base on the CCNA ref guide I bought You cannot mixed the ISL and dot1q.

they can be in vtp domain, you only have to config vtp domain name for that issue.(an the other stuff)
about trunking
remember that you set the encap on an iF that you choice for trunking.
if the IOS or CATOS support both encaps. so you can do it.
..i think
