This mainly effects Azure exams and MCSE Cloud and Infrastructure certification.

Glad I got my MCSE Cloud and Infrastructure a few days ago. Alot of study material will have to be rewritten because of this

Same here. Passed 533/535 back in June and 744 on Monday. The good news is if I do Azure stack in January I should get an MCSE Core Infrastructure 2019 out of the deal..... -

The 2012 stuff is still available in their latest roadmap. -
poolmanjim Member Posts: 285 ■■■□□□□□□□It's also a requirement to have the 2012 and 2016 exams to get an MCSE:CI now. They're not retiring those. It seems only some Azure stuff is going away.2019 Goals: Security+
2020 Goals: 70-744, Azure
Completed: MCSA 2012 (01/2016), MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure (07/2017), MCSA 2017 (09/2017)
Future Goals: CISSP, CCENT -

I think they are mistaking the 70-740 exam with Azure. These(70-740/741/742) are definitely NOT being retired. Basically if anyone is looking at taking for example 70-533, you probably want to review the red portions here which points the the new Azure test https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-70-533.aspx
IMPORTANT: Microsoft is making significant changes to this certification. To learn more, see the blog post on role-based certification on Microsoft Learning Community. As a result, exam 533 will be replaced with two new exams that cover the Azure Administrator job role more extensively than this exam does. To support these changes, we are retiring exam 533 on December 31, 2018.
