I passed the CompTIA Cloud Essentials Exam (CLO-001) - today (December 2018)!
I often lurk here and on reddit while I prepare for my IT certs. The posts really help me prepare and let me know what to expect.
It's my turn to contribute.
To prepare I used 4 resources:
CompTIA Cloud Essentials Certification Study Guide (Exam CLO-001) by ITpreneur
Cloud Essentials: CompTIA Authorized Courseware for Exam CLO-001 by Kalani
I have a Safari Books Online subscription. I used the e-book.
I registered for the 7-day trial
I have a subscription.
I also have 18 years of experience in IT (9 years of experience in IT Security).
I would say I spent about 30 hours preparing.
1- I read resource #1. (Practice questions and 1 practice exam) . I did not use the CD-rom.
2- I watched resource # 4 (Linux Academy) and did the quiz questions and practice exam.
3- I watched resource #3
4- I only did the practice questions in resource #2. I did not do so well on these questions and it help me identify what I had to review.
The content was quite enjoyable and useful. As someone who is involved on the business side and on the IT Security side of cloud migrations, it will help me improve my planning. It is not a technical certification. The ITIL section is the only section I would recommend understanding and memorizing.
Good luck and let me know if I can help further!
