Amazon Web Services (AWS)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional - Passed (12/15)!
averageguy72
Took and passed it on Saturday (12/15). Goal was to get it done sometime this year but I switched roles mid year from de-facto security/architecture guy to official security person, so this one went on the back burner.
I've worked with the core services in limited capacity, mostly on my own, since tackling the associate certification a while back. My company may be looking to transition some of our services to AWS, so I decided it would be good to go ahead and get it done.
I used acloud.guru for review (if you're gonna start from scratch, probably good to run through the three associate level ones first (developer/architect/sysops associate) and then read over some of the white papers/faqs as a refresher. The best learning/reinforcement tool was providing an overview and how the company that I work for could leverage the services for our environment and doing a Q&A with the our technical teams.
I've been in IT for over 20 years - developer, architect, deployment, management, senior leadership.

Congratulations, that is a hard one
Any plans to further go the AWS route or was this more of a one-off?

- Yes, I still want to do SysOp. But I'll probably go for Security/Advanced Networking/Big Data before SysOp/DevOps.
