I got a call for a second interview set for this thursday for a PC Technology Specialist position at a local university. My boss has helped me alot with preparing my resume etc, to find a job, since this current job is temporary (IT assistant). She says that if I got called back for a second interview then Its basically a 99.9% chance that I got the job. In my opinion I seem to be a perfect fit for the posistion and they seem to know this as well since they were excited to meet me for the first interview. The IT manager that interviewed me says that I will be meeting up with a few more IT staff members for the second interview. Has anyone that has gone through a simular experiences with second interviews? and can you give me some tips to what to expect? My boss says to just relax and be myself since I am already through the hard part.

janmike Member Posts: 3,076Sounds like what happened to me when I got my present job. You may yet be interviewing with someone from Human Resources if the IT folks decide that you are the one.

Congrats well done. Fantastic opportunity to learn how to maintain a large network and support so many users. Will look good on your CV when your ready to move on into a more challenging role. You should be considering MSCE track as experiance and knowledge go hand in hand.

Most definately. I am in mcse training right now. I finish in 2 weeks, so Im already working on my Microsoft certs. 270 within 2 weeks since ive been studying, then 290, 291 to get that MCSA in 2003 server. Eventually MCSE after studying for those design certs, which actually are right up my alley since I enjoy designing networks or anything for that matter.

I have an Associate degree in network systems administration from Heald College. I also have 1 year of experience working for my college part-time in the IT department as an IT Technical Assistant, basically supporting this network of over 500 computers. The position that I have just acquired has around 80 computers per location, but I also backup all of the central to northern CA campuses when needed, so I have to travel on short notice, which is something I am really looking forward to.
