Hi Keenon,

Was a pleasure speaking with you today over the phone regarding the study group. I think this will be awesome and alot easier for us if we get this going. And you already have alot of equimpent and software already.

If we can get this going even bigger and more people join that would be great! What do you say fellow members? Anyone else in the Nashville or Antioch area want to join in a study group?

We are planning on having our first meeting nextweek!

it must be luck of the draw.. we have currently 4 interested members for the local study group ranging from wanting to get CCNA to 1 for CCIE lab

I would never have thought that a post on here would actually get folks together! Pretty cool. I'm aiming to have the CCNP done by the end of this year. I'm gonna take an extra long time on the CIT exam to really pound in some hands-on work. So, if anyone is in Columbus OH, and is looking to merge labs / study-partner w/ a ccnp student, let me know! I'm aiming to start the CIT in October assuming all goes well with the BCRAN in the meantime.

1st study group went great we covered labs on:
advanced ip addressing
ipv6
ospf single and multi-area (point to point and broadcast)
rip

we are meeting this saturday to cover ospf NMBA and is-is

we've haven't had much time to get back to that but we did do a great lab on ISIS..
the next 2 weeks we may be covering EIGRP depending on how much we can cover.

then to the mess of all mess BGP

Your topic and the resulting study group has inspired someone else in the CCNA forum to try the same in Ohio. I hope this becomes a successful trend. There was once a certification forum (now **** site) that offered private forums for study groups. If you think something like that would be useful, I'll be happy to accomodate.

Are you using any particular study material for the labs?

not really, some labs we use from cisco press, sybex, ipexpert and some of those other sites that i posted with lab views (only we have them smaller) and just plan making them up. also we looked at the internet routing table huge i say huge http://www.netdigix.com/servers.html you can use show commands here to see it

we are on for this weekend .. bcran studies.. ppp, ddr and vpn labs if we can squeeze it in


any suggestions of topics to skim light on.. as the book i have covers picking certain routers and modems.. i bought the book set about a year ago working my way through them

well, i'm still here all of the original members have reached NP level and all are working on IE at the moment. I have been out of the loop so to speak recovering from a MAJOR cisco burnout from the crazy study schedule I used to keep.

Slowing working my way back reviewing all the nuggets and reading the books. Currently I've just finished a QoS class and reviewing for that test. Exploring the thoughts on doing VP or IP but IE r/s is still the main finishing point just capturing the extra knowledge on the way.

I'm glad to see there is an interest again. Currently I'm reworking my rack trying to get the servers rebuilt. Been updating codes and rack setup.
