Hi Everyone,

I was a passive member of TechExams but never said anything. Now I've made another account to share my journey to obtaining the GSE certification. I am a Sr. Principal Information Security Specialist (aka glorified Cyber Security Analyst). I'm at a weird point in my career. Because my job is no longer challenging I spend my days studying for my latest cert or working in my virtual lab to try out new tools or pick up a new skill. I have a two year plan that includes several more GIAC certifications and moving to another country. I look forward to reading the experiences of others and engaging with the community.

Degree: B.S. in Industrial Engineering
Current Certifications
: Security+, ITILv3, CASP, CEHv10, GCIH
SANS Courses Taken: GCIH, GSEC, GPEN
Next Course: GCUX - Sept 2019
Studying for
 : GPEN [In-Progress]
Future Certififcations : GCIA, GSE, GCWN, GCFA, eJPT, GWAPT, GWAN, GXPN, OSCP

My current company has some work in Germany. They’re actively trying to get some people over there.

Germany is good...I see a lot of good positions out there. I just worry about the cold, I hate the cold lol

I need to get more info to see if my company will provide housing or if I’m on my own. Lol. Me too!!! I hate the cold. I didn’t really see any positions within my company that were in warm areas. The good thing is while I’m deciding my company let’s me go to SANS courses. I just finished SEC506 at Network Security 2019.

That sucks. I would be willing to make the sacrifice if it was a title I really wanted. I think a lot of places in Germany offer a housing allowance. That's nice they are letting you take SANS courses. We only get $1500 that's not going to cover SANS training lol
