how to get rid of flash

I'm upgrading 3 of my 2520 routers that I just bought. done with the first one, but for the 2nd, it tells me that the ios file in one partition is read only. so, failed to erase. I checked ios command, can't find the right command. any one got an idea?

Have you tried erasing\upgrading the flash by changing the configuration register to boot to rommon mode or the rx-boot image?

I would try the rx-boot image first, because you can still configure the interfaces and tftp the new image as long as the tftp server resides on the same network
