Technology Assistant Intern

Hi, I will be interviewing soon for a Technology Assistant Intern opportunity at a local rural Internet Provider that provides wireless internet to residental and business customers in eastern NC, I attend community college for I.T as well. Am I taking the correct steps to obtain gainful employment in the I.T industry?

Yes. You will learn a great deal by working for an Internet Service Provider. There may be times where you are tasked to perform work within multiple domains such as cabling, servers, networking, working with routers and switches.

Learn everything you can about the business, technologies they use, and technologies that are looking to implement. Not everyone gets their start in IT with an ISP, so I think you may have a unique opportunity to pickup some experience that not everyone else will have.
