You sure the motherboard utlizes DDR? Sounds quite new, so it probably does...

Did you seat the modules correctly?

    hi
ys ,the mbd is brand new, it uses a DDR SDRAM DIMM

i tried both slots of memory
but still the beep sound is there which is repeating
    and no video display

Have you tried a different stick of RAM?

Also, does the RAM match the desired MB specifications? PC 3200, 4000 etc?

the thing is in the user manual it says the mbd supports upto 2 GB of memory, but the memory specificatiosn says it supports 512 mb mem. then how can it be poss that it supports 2 GB as this mbd has only 2 slots

    System Memory:
Two 184-pin DDR SDRAM DIMM sockets
    Support single-sided or double-sided 2.5v DDR-266/333 DIMMs in 64/128/256/512Mb technologies
Support up to 2 GB system memory

Not sure if you have version 1.x or 2.x but they are the same at this point.

From PAGE 3-6 of your user manual:
    3-3 System Memory Configuration
    Memory Layout
The mainboard accommodates two PC1600//PC2100/PC2700 184-pin DIMMs (Dual Inline
    Memory Modules):
    • Supports up to 2.0GB of 200/266/333/333+MHz DDR SDRAM.
    • Supports unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs.
    • Supports configurations defined in the JEDEC DDR DIMM specification.
Figure 7 and Table 1 show several possible memory configurations.
    NOTES:
    • When FSB is 400MHz, DDR200/266 are supported.
    • When FSB is 533/533+MHz, DDR266/333/333+ are supported.
    • Using non-compliant memory with higher bus speeds
(overclocking) may severely compromise the integrity of the
    system.
    * DDR SDRAM supports 64, 128, 256, 512MB and 1GB DIMM modules
    using 512Mb technology.
DDR DIMM 1 Bank 0/1 DDRDRAM
    DDR DIMM 2 Bank 2/3

    And from PAGE 2-1
    Main Memory
Two 184-pin DDR DIMM sockets for PC1600/PC2100/PC2700 (DDR200/
    266/333/333+) DIMMs
Supports up to 2GB memory size

What Brand and Memory Speed are you using?
What is the FSB speed of your CPU?

Are you certain everything is plugged in properly?

Start from the beginning. Remove everything.

Install only the CPU, RAM and Video.
    Does the system POST?
If so, Add your Drives (one at a time) and reboot between each addition.

******Also, I'm moving this from the A+ forum as it is a hardware issue and not so much questions about the A+ exam. More people are likley to see this if it placed in the correct forum.

You are using a PCI graphics card?

hmmm.. that board didn't happen to have on-board video correct?

    *******

So, you are saying that you get a POST code without RAM installed but no POST code only Beep Code error when you install the RAM?

Almost sounds like your Graphics Card is the problem.

the graphics card is new 64mb radeon sapphire

i meant tht if i dont install the mem ,it beeps like 1 long and 2 short .

and after 2 mins the repeated beep combined with this 1 long and 2 short beeps (ven mem is not installed)

and if i install the mem then it is the repeated beep only
is it the prob of graphics card or mem
