Hello,
I just noticed that my VCP is no longer expired and is just "retired." It looks like I may have missed the boat to take VCP2019 and now for VCP2020 I need to retake the course.
Can I still take the VCP6.5 exam? Or is only the most recent VCP available to take?
Thanks everyone.

He answers these types of questions all the time. I therefore speak from no authority but think you can upgrade but don't delay too much. Have a look at this link - https://blogs.vmware.com/education/2020/02/05/certification-upgrade-policy-update/

tmurphy3100 Member Posts: 154 ■■■□□□□□□□Thanks. That link clearly says that I need to take a course in order to re-certify with VCP2020. But I am wondering if I can still test for VCP2019 or VCP6.5.2020 Goals: CCNA R&S, Cysa+, AZ103, Linux+, Pentest+

Check this link as well - https://www.vmware.com/education-services/certification/vcp-dcv.htmlI have a sneaking suspicion you'll need to redo the class but not necessarily Foundations exam. Again, I am no VMware expert. I plan to do Foundations exam in a few months myself.

Your VCP5.5-DCV doesn’t count for anything now - it would have done til the end of 2019, but not now.
This is called out on both the links posted above.
Your only option which would not require training is the VCP-NV 2020 as your CCNA would give you an alternate path. If you achieved the VCP-NV 2020 you could then step across to VCP-DCV 2020 by passing just 1 additional exam - but if you don’t use NSX-T that’s some ask...VCP2 / VCP3 / VCP4 / VCP5 / VCAP4-DCA / VCI / vExpert 2010-2012
