I just received a bizarre email from Covered 6 Academy and was wondering if anyone has ever heard of them? They appear to be a certification training company out of California.

They're also apparently part of the Covered 6 private security group that seemed focused on personal defense, firearms, and veteran transition training. Their "about us" lists some ex special investigators, SWAT, and special forces people and a single IT guy.
Their 3 tracks are focused on A+, Network+, and Security+ which are not exactly hard certifications that require a formal training program. I'm not sure what the prices are but they must be relatively steep based on the fact that military veterans can use their MGIB on it.
On the plus side, they are ISO 17024 accredited as a trainer and do seem to want to help veterans get their foot in the door with IT.2021 Goals: WGU BSCSIA, CEH, CHFI | 2022 Goals: WGU MSCSIA, AWS SAA, AWS Security Specialist -

They sent an email telling me that they reviewed my application (I didn't apply) and told me I didn't have the right certs to get into cybersecurity (I have Sec+, CySA+, CASP+, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, and passed the CISSP exam). Such a weird email to receive.

ISO/IEC 17024 is a standardization for "human" certifications and not for certification trainers. The Covered 6 Academy website displays the CompTIA logo followed by "Accredited by ANSI to show compliance with the ISO 17024 Standard," which is true, but this doesn't attest to the quality or credibility of Covered 6 Academy as a training provider. It may be that the people who put together the content of that Website don't understand the information they are presenting.stryder144 said:They sent an email telling me that they reviewed my application (I didn't apply) and told me I didn't have the right certs to get into cybersecurity (I have Sec+, CySA+, CASP+, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate, and passed the CISSP exam). Upon reading this, I'm promoting my regard for them from "amateurish" to "scam." -
