DEF CON 29 & BSidesLV 2021

There is now information on the possibility of an on-site, "Last known good configuration" DEF CON 29 happening in Las Vegas in 2021. The final decision is expected by April.

Also at this time, there is no information that an on-site BSidesLV 2021 will be conducted in Las Vegas as well.

I'll be at both; either corporeal or "in viritu."

Nice! Come August, I hope we can go on-site. Id like to go for a small 4 day weekend even if we require masks on Actually I hope we still all wear our masks at least just for this year while vaccines and peoples immunities are still adapting.

COVID cases and hospitalizations have been sharply declining since 1/6/2021--the day Biden was confirmed as president. I think by August we'll be wearing DEF CON face masks just as a novelty.

It looks like BSidesLV 2021 will be a virtual event on July 31 to August 1, 2021.

DEF CON 29 will be happening with physical or virtual-only yet to be decided. For those optimists, the DEF CON room booking link is active.

Oh well, next year will be better times. I think I will head out to Vegas in the summer for a few days anyways lol

I'll probably be headed out to LV at DEF CON time. There might be on-site volunteer opportunities for some of the villages. I don't think finding a good room will be a problem then.

Good question. I really need to see whats happening with the smaller cons. I stopped doing DefCon years ago. Too much circus not enough bread.
