When you renew certs? Do you wait until the day before they expire?

Generally, after CPEs/CEUs have all been submitted, the day that fee is paid becomes the date stamp upon which the cert will expire in the future. It make sense to wait until the last moment to renew, to squeeze every day possible out of the expiration period. But that accrues some risk in case something happens and the expiration lapses without payment.

What's your strategy? Wait until the day before expiration, the week before, the same month?

You don't loose any time for renewing early. For example, if you renew three months before your due date, the new renewal fee isn't applied by the vendor until after your current membership period ends. All you have done is paid a bill three months before it is due--presumably for your own convenience. Of course, the cert vendor just wants your money ASAP. ;)

I take care of it as soon as I receive the reminder then expense the fees to my employer :-)
