I am going to buy the MCSE core box set and start reading the 70-290 book.

Think i'll get away with VMWARE 2003 Svr / XP pro install for my lab?

Also, any tips on starting out on this exam?

i passed 70-270 first time and have failed 70-290 twice, mistake i made was going to the 290 exam unprepaired, i had years of experience with xp pro so that helped but none with server so when i ill revised i was sure to fail

still revising now when i can get the chance so when i pass am sure it wont be far off 1000, imo you have to learn and understand twice as much for server than xp

    hope that helps

I'm in the same boat as you - but I tried to play smart (yeah right) and do the 291 instead - failed that twice, but only because I'm trying to cram a load in because of the second shot scheme. icon_redface.gif
