Passed 70-272! New MCDST
Scored 918.
I actually thought 272 was easier than 271, but that may actually be due to the questions I received. My earlier post (when I passed 271) discusses what materials I used, but I wanted to add to it that I know I broke 900 due to the excellent TechNotes on Remote Assistance and Remote Desktop (as well as the CBT).
I had at least 10 questions on Remote Desktop, mostly regarding troubleshooting with both ICF and (SP2's) Windows Firewall. I would recommend reading the ICF TechNotes as well.
Other things I would recommend studying up on:
:: Outlook Express (.dbx) vs Outlook (.pst) file extensions
:: Identities vs User Profiles
:: Simple File Sharing (and when it does not apply)
:: IE Security and Connectivity Settings
:: VPN Connections (PPTP, IPSec, Certificates, L2TP)
:: Outlook Notification, Junk Mail, Routing rules and options.
:: Using Encryption with Outlook to send email (Certificate Handling and Certificate related errors)
:: Again, ICF _AND_ Windows Firewall... can't be stressed enough.
:: Again, Remote Desktop issues (when the Net Admin tells you it's not his stuff).
Excellent site, excellent TechNotes (thanks Webmaster and Moderators!)
Definitely pumps me up for continuing with some more MS certifications.
Take Care,
Rcoop
