Where are you looking/applying for jobs nowadays?

I remember Dice, then Monster being #1 a LONG time ago, then it was Careerbuilder, then Indeed...any new ones to speak of???

I have only been hired off of Careerbuilder once, the other two above seemed like a waste of time...

One thing I have noticed, and I loathe...are companies using Workday backend, which basically makes you duplicate your efforts EVERY time when applying for a job. I wish, if you already had applied ONCE with Workday client, it can make the process a little smoother, but it doesn't. Maybe someone knows a better way to parse your resume format to where it actually imports into the webform COMPLETELY, however, it never does for me. I prefer one click submissions, IMO. Indeed has this, but it was more like 5 clicks. I did notice that on Workday there was use last application (or something to that matter) and it would autofill as much as possible, but it was very clunky. You would think with all the technologically advancements out there, this would improve.

I still want to do a video resume, I feel like that would be an ideal way of selling yourself to a potential new employer, but then again I am not the ego type to boost my way in to someone hiring me.

The Jobs section on LinkedIn links to opening on other job sites. I take this as indicating LinkedIn is (still) the most popular job board.

Honestly, same here — Dice/Monster/CareerBuilder feel pretty dead now. Most recruiters I bump into are on LinkedIn, and that’s where I’ve had the best luck. Some folks even run a Linked Helper scraper for LinkedIn to save time, but honestly just keeping your profile sharp + sending a few personal notes works better.

Workday though… ugh. I keep a super simple resume (no fancy formatting) so at least it autofills halfway decent, but it’s still a pain. Video resume sounds cool — maybe more as a side thing you link to rather than replacing the regular CV.

Have you checked out Hired or AngelList? Less clunky than the old-school sites.

I've had the worst time unsubscribing from some recruiting companies that found me via Dice. I haven't been in the market in 2025, yet I can't seem to remove myself from these lists. I don't want to report legit recruiters as spam, but it's just way beyond reasonable now.

I have been applying anywhere and everywhere for the past 4 months and nothing. Seems most postings are ghost jobs. I have applied for over 600 jobs and only had 6 or 7 interviews and only 1 gave constructive criticism. Most just never respond at all. I have been getting alot of 'spam' recently in my linkedin. Alot of 'recruiters' offering to help but when i look at their profile they have 3 or 4 connections. Anyway, my IT career is likely done at this point but stopped in here to see if there was anything of interest and saw this and figured I'd share my experience.

In addition to Careerbuilder, Indeed, and Monster, newer job boards like Job Board, LinkedIn, and AngelList offer easier application processes. While Workday can be clunky, platforms are improving with one-click submissions. Video resumes are a great idea but can feel like a challenge for non-egotistical applicants.
