Hi everyone, I am about to switch careers and start on the ground floor. I'm signing up to study for the CompTIA A+ and CCNA routing and switching, starting tomorrow. I'm keen to learn and slightly worried about being suddenly out of my depth! I'm going to take it carefully, but am looking forward to what the future holds.

Codablaze Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□Thank you! I have found a sort of study home on the professor messer discord, however I am doing a lot of tinkering with my home network and I can already see that I will have questions.
Lots of questions! -
JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,099 AdminMake sure you only use study materials for the certification exam version that you will be taking. I've noticed Security+ videos on YT that are over ten years old. Look for the proper exam number (SY0-701, N10-009, 2024, etc.), otherwise you end up missing newer topics and studying old exam objectives that have been removed.

Codablaze Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□Yes, my first stop was the CompTIA website to get the up to date exam objectives, which I then matched to the course materials. The new exam objectives are available for review, for when they come into practice in April 2025, with the current exam crossing over until October 2025.
TL;DR: I have a year.
I am teaching myself to set up SSH on my home network. It is not going well, but I have hope!
