in CCNA & CCENT
with a mark of 962
As some of you may be aware, this was my second attempt after failing the week before with an 837.
To all who are on the second attempt, here is my experience.
I was allot more relaxed this time. I'm amazed at how worked up I got over the 1st attempt, which ultimatley led to me failing.
Todd Lammle's study guide 5th edition would be my number one reccommendation for study. I used this combined with Cisco press CCNA Companion guides, and a home lab comprised of my 827H ADSL Router connected to my home lab of a 2500 series Router , 2600 series Router and 3 x 1600-R routers (all from ebay). Cables were all purchased from www.anthonypanda.com
Unfortunatley i do not yet have a Switch, so I used Boson's Netsim 6 to cover any ground not available to be with the home lab.
The questions second time round seemed completley different much more subnetting, and to my surprise several ISDN questions based on BRI.
The SIM's were the same setup, but a different Scenario. This caught me off guard, so be sure to have subnetting and all the common CLI commands nailed. Time management is a must, and already contributed to my fail the first time. After 10 - 15 mins max, move on!
Good luck

Danman32 Member Posts: 1,243Yes, most excellent score. I too was much more relaxed the 2nd time around. I worked with any sim labs I could get my hands on, no matter how simplistic. This got me comfortable with checking everything in a timely manner. I got the same sims the 2nd time as I did the first. However I did the retake 2 or 3 weeks after the first attempt.
