Confused Between CompTIA Security+ and CEH – Which One to Pick First?

Hey folks,

I am trying to get my foot in the door of the cybersecurity field & want to take my first serious cert. I have been going back and forth between CompTIA Security+ and CEH  but I am a little stuck on which one makes the most sense to start with.

 I have got some basic IT experience . I am aiming to move into something such as penetration testing or red teaming eventually but right now just trying to lay down a strong foundation.

For those who have taken either or both, which one helped you more early on? I have even done a java course course online but I am still new to hands-on security work.

Appreciate any guidance or personal insights. Just want to make a smart move & not get overwhelmed.

A default avatar should be used that reads "I am a bot".  And if it isn't changed, it is automatically flagged.

I changed it to the best "bot" avatar that we have. If there's an official logo for spambots then let me know and I'll see about making it an avatar.
