Finished BS in computer networking a few years ago.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice towards landing an entry level IT help desk job, all i have is a BS degree in computer networking i finished a few years ago and i forgot everything i learned, subnetting, code, creating a database, Linux, you name it. I'm one of those people that if i don't use it lose it. I went to a for profit school for IT and finished the 2-year program only to find out i couldn't transfer to a local university with the national accreditation. So i started over at a junior college and finished 2 years computer networks, transferred to the local university which took 3 more years, so now I'm 7 years of study and the only thing i can do is unplug a router and plug it back in if it's not working. i hardly see any job post for IT in my city, the school i work at as a mechanic turned me down on the application for help desk with wanting a AAS and two years of experience. I search the key words help desk for through linked in jobs, monster, indeed but again, hardly anything, i see a few network engineer jobs with 15 plus years under their belt but that's about it. Is there anything I'm missing as far as job searching goes that might improve my odds.

YEESH Mann.
i hope you're just a BOT... because that's a BRUTAL story right there.
If you can't even get a "helpdesk job"... Probably best to avoid I.T. altogether.
A.I. is coming anyway.... -

"College = waste of time"
to be fair.... I think it depends on the MAjor.
But for I.T.... yeah, there's a LOT of areas where you don't really need a "Degree".
Its all about certifications, experience, and being competent.
I think you should focus on an actual area of I.T.... and try to work on getting a relevant certification.
in the mean time... don't give up your Day job.
the job market is cooked!!
