CompTIA just created its first Expansion certification, SecAI+. I'd love to hear from anyone who takes the exam or goes through any training materials for what they liked (or didn't like) about it.
I had the chance to chat with CompTIA's James Stanger about it last week for the launch. He's quite an energetic fellow. As an AI and cybersecurity-adjacent person, I thought it was interesting, but the only cert I have is the AWS AI Practioner. Some initial info from James:
- It's aimed at those around the CySA+/PenTest+ level ... practitioners with a few years of experience
- Focuses on the AI security trifecta: Securing AI, improving security work, and GRC around AI and is very "workflow focused"
- Exam (CAI-001) is 60 minutes and up to 60 questions
- You should "absolutely" know how to use AI tools before taking the exam. Don't have to be an expert, but don't come in cold and expect to do well.
