I can't connect my two pc to a 2900

in CCNA & CCENT
I am having problem connecting my two pc to a 2900 series switch.
Do I need to set up anything, I know it should work with out any vlan and ip.
Any problem with my interface? but when I tried to configure Vlan it works and after that I deleted the vlan configuration using delete flash:vlan.dat.
again it did not work with out any vlan.

what is network layout?
whats giving out dhcp?
if your connecting to "retail" router with ports you will need to turn off spanning tree on the port on the 2900Become the stainless steel sharp knife in a drawer full of rusty spoons -

The wierd thing is that when I used the crossover cable it works. It should be straight cable and I 've checked on my CCNA documents and it mentioned that nic to sw cable type is straight.
