A+ in 1997 at the age of 42. I've been doing digits since 1975 but started doing certifications to clear the moss that was starting to grow on my brain. Lots of tests later... now I SME exams for three different orgs, serve on the advisory committee at the local state vo-tech, published a couple of study guides, finish the BS in August, start the MS in October. Life is good. icon_cool.gif

It seemed easier obtaining certification as a single guy with not a lot of responsibilities. Now that I have a wife and a new daughter, it's a lot harder to get study time although I was still able to complete 2000/2003 MCSA and 2000/2003 MCSE. A lot of credit goes to my wife and daughter for being patient with me during times of certification. When I come home with a new book or when a new book arrives at the doorstep from Amazon, she kind of already knows the drill if it's a big fat one. She'll usually ask and I usually explain if the new book is for reference or certification. That kind of sets the tone for the next month.

Sounds familiar! I have 2 kids, a 5 1/2 and 3 year-old plus I just started college last month for a BS Degree. So, it does get tough sometimes with the job, family, school, and cert studying to make it all come together, but the kids are good enough to not bug me too much when I am doing schoolwork or cert stuff. It will be an interesting 2 1/2 years until I am done with school, but hopefully the job experience, certs, and BS degree will land me somewhere nice when it is all said and done. I should wrap up college at the age of 38, almost 39. That leaves me a good 20-25 years for my career (Can't wait to see the technology in 25 years!) :P
