As its name implies, it is used to 'undo the gui mode', refering to the gui portion of Setup.

As you can read in my TechNotes:
    icon_arrow.gifwww.techexams.net/technotes/xp/installing.shtml
there are four stages in Setup. The second is the Setup Wizard, also refered to as the gui portion, stage, fase, mode. When this stage of Setup is started, Setup checks whether the GUI mode ran previously and failed. If it did, the Undo_guimode.txt file contains the information necessary to undo the actions that were performed when the gui mode of setup did not successfuly complete.

If you search for Undo_guimode.txt at www.microsoft.com and google.com their 'll probably be plenty of articles decribing it in more detail.

Any particular reason you wanted to know?

Thank you very much for the help. I learned a lot in this site and help me prepare for my 70-270 exam this month.

Hope to pass the exam with the help of this site and to all the members who are willing to give a hand and share the knowledge they have acquired.
