Pearson VUE vs. Thompson Prometric: Any differences?
kujayhawk93
This is probably a stupid question, but is the test the same regardless if you take it through Pearson VUE or Prometric? I'm sure the content is the same since the test is written by CompTIA, but is it administered the same way at both places? I only ask because I've seen Prometric mentioned alot, but never Pearson, and my test tomorrow is at a Pearson center.

Rest assured that the test will be the same no matter where you take it...to (sort of) quote what Olajuwon said on the forums a while back..its like buying a plasma TV...you can get it at either Circuit City or Best Buy....its the same TV.
Good luck.

The test is indeed the same (well from the same question pool from CompTIA). Both Pearson VUE and Prometric have both good and bad test centers. Usually the closest is the first choice.

a word of advice: Take the time to visit the testing center before you schedule your exam. Is it a nice facility? Is the testing room quiet? are the people friendly and helpful? Are the testing computers in good shape? Scope it out. Shop around. A good testing center can make a stressful situation more pleasant.
I've been to one center where the testing room was also the broom closet.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately I've already scheduled the test and it's an hour away, so I don't have the luxury of scoping it out first. It's at a Centric Foss Training site, so I'm sure the facilities are up to par.

I realize this is an old post but I totally agree with visiting the Test Center before your exam. I went to a Test Center I had never even heard of before purely because they had a late afternoon seat. Very noisy as their was a class going on next door. People we walking around outside the room and I could see them out of the corner of my eye. The experience was so bad I wrote to Prometric to complain.
I failed the exam, a Microsoft MCP and will be resitting it at a much more well known Test Center in a few weeks.
