cidr classless internetwork domain routing

Hi,

We were reading about CIDR but couldnt find any information about the explanation.

Does anybody know how it exactly works?

Also CIDR disregards IP class boundaries. So 192.168.0.0/16 is just as valid as 192.168.1.0/24
