internet connection down

some one from the utility company or cable company knocked down the cable coming to my house so it was on the ground but still working. i tried to call the cable company to get the resolved but they were in an all employee meeting

needless to say i left and came back last night and one of my "intelligent

" neighbors decided to cut the cable

cable company told me that the soonest someone could be out is on friday

don't think i didn't demand credits or reduction of bill

i would have came home to emergency vechiles but the power would have been back on in a few hours at least with the cable

Yes, and one less neighbor, too. That could be good or bad.

Patch the cable until they can fix it. If they ask, tell them the truth: your neighbor cut the cable, and you wanted internet, so you provided yourself with a temp fix until they did the perm fix.

It will probably work if center core touches center core, shield to shield and core not touching shield. It can't be worse than simply cut and unterminated.
