One thing that is getting on my nerves -

Two people I have interviewed w/ said they would contact me either way. I sent thank you letters out etc..

However I have heard nothing from both jobs. Should I move on or contact them once more?

    Thanks..

How long have you been waiting? You may call, and just say you're calling in to touch-base about the position. I usally don't tell them, "oh I'm calling in to see if the position has been filled or not", as they may seem that I myself don't feel confident.

The only thing that surprises me is that most employers want 'professionalism' and 'communcation', but they themseleves become the first ones not to practice it.

I know they don't have time, but usually you're talking about 3-5 candidates. If they don't care to take 30 sec to shoot an email to few people they interviewed, then it's very unethical to keep one in dark. I don't believe it's a lack of time, but it's a lack of common courtesy.

The first job it has been over a month... the job is still posted.

The second job has been 2.5 weeks. I shot an email over to the person who interviewed and touched base... so I guess we will see how it works out.

If they can not make a call or an email when they say they will- that shows me they are not responsible.

Two days? Pffft, I'm on a week now since the last interview (was my third one) and I'm still waiting for an update. I called yesterday and the man in charge said he just got back from out of town, and he would call me sometime today (the suspense is KILLING me! :P ). This company is known for taking a real long time with their hiring processes, so I'm not sweating it "too" much. Though I occasionally catch myself just staring at my cell phone, hoping it will make some noise soon icon_cool.gif

I can feel the pain, I interviewed for an hour and a half. The HR said the Boss really liked me and to fill out the paper work. Which I did promptly, then the boss called me and say's I passed the PhaseI background and he now has approval to make an offer and he's putting together some numbers. And how soon could I start. That was two three days ago and the suspense is killing me. I called him to touch base and see if he had any questions I could answer for him but he wasnt there. At least he will see my number and KNOW Im still intrested. This is a big company in the Internet world and I'm going to push for it hard. In the mean time I'm getting calls every day for other jobs while Im at work. One is at a school which starts next monday, which tells me they need someone to hand off the headache to quickly. Oh well I need more time for interviews? I need to say no thank you I love the job I have!
