NT4 HELP!!

What are some of the things I need to remember about NT4?

I know that it doesn't support FAT32 or logical drives.
It doesn't natively support USB.
It doesn't have compression, encryption, and quotas like Win2K.
ERDs are created at Run by typing RDISK.
It doesn't have a Device Manager.
Versions before 3.51 must upgrade to 3.51 before upgrading to Win2K.

Is there anything else?

NTFS compression is not a NTFS 5 only feature, hence it is supported on NT 4. Also NT 4 does support logical drives.

Except for the system requirements, you pretty much listed the essentials. Other topics concerning NT 4 are the same in 2000, hence aren't NT 4 specific.

Alright. So compression is supported in NT4, but not encryption right?

Also, one of your technotes says that NT4 doesn't support logical drives.
Because NTwill not recognise FAT32 partitions and logical drives, it is important that if Windows 95 or 98 is the original o/s on your pc that it is installed on a FAT partition and not FAT32.

    Right.

"Because NT will not recognise FAT32 partitions and logical drives"
Ah, I see what you mean, that is confusing indeed. I think I meant that it doesn't support FAT32 partitions and FAT32 logical drives, but that is obvious already..., I'll change it.

icon_lol.gif I replied a little too soon on this one... I thought you referred to the 70-210 or 70-270 TechNotes, but the TechNotes for the A+ OS exam are written by Bellboy.

..needs at least SP3 to enable AGP support (otherwise you're stuck in VGA mode after the driver installtion)
