Can i use mrtg to monitor the traffic of lan card in winxp ???

As far as memory serves me MRTG will allow you to graph out the traffic for any network connection and it is written in perl so it will work on windows or linux. Now if you are wanting to monitor the actual packet by packet of the lan traffic then you will want ethereal/wireshark to do that.
