dynamic ip address

Question:
I rdc into my home network whilst on the road, however due to my IP address keep changing as a result of dynamic addressing from my ISP provider. Often I have to call home for someone there to retrievethe i address for me.
Is there a software that would be able to determine my ip address remotely, similar to whatismyip.com that does it locally.

The only way I could think of is dynamic DNS, or if you have a web page hosted externally, have a machine within your lan upload the results of WhatsMyIp to that website.
