any trick on pasting new config into the router?

I did as cisco site told. first, capture the current config out to my disk, then use a text editor to wipe away the lines that i don't like, then copy all the content to windows clipborad. go back to hyper terminal, at config prompt, click "edit", "paste to host".

I saw each line got run ok, but after i "sh run", it's still the original config. did i do any step wrong? any trick?

Did you erase the original configuration from the router? If all you did to the copied configuration was remove some lines and paste it back without removing the configuration from the router, you will still have the original configuration on the router.
