line, tty, vty, differences

Here is the output:

Router(config)#line ?

<0-70> First Line number
aux Auxiliary line
console Primary terminal line
tty Terminal controller
vty Virtual terminal
x/y Slot/Port for Modems

Is 0-70 is for number of telnet sessions that can be opened to the router? Is telnet enabled by default? Also, what's the differency between tty and vty. Thanks :)

    No. Those are physical connections. The number of telnet sessions is controlled by the number of virtual connections.

    TTY lines are physical connections. VTY lines are virtual connections.
