Taking 70-218 Today

Well, I should be taking 70-218 today. Once I pass this I'll have MCSA, giving me one more certification employers can completely overlook icon_wink.gif . I've been studying for about a week and feel very confident that I will pass. All of these tests now seem to build on each other, and as a result each test is becoming increasingly easier. I'm consistently getting 95%+ on all my practice tests and find many of the questions to be a joke. Hopefully the questions on the test will be this easy. Wish me luck, although I don't think I'll need it :D .

    Well, I just got back and from my updated profile you can tell how I did :D . So now I'm an MCSA, three tests (70-216, 70-214, and 70-220) away from my goal of MCSE:Security. I'll get started on 70-216 right away! I'm planning on putting in 6+ hours a day and hopefully will take the test sometime next week. I know I'm rushing things, but I know the stuff pretty well at this point. My O'Reilly book on Active Directory was incredibly helpful. I feel like I can do anything with 2000 at this point. I doubt that's true, but I'm cocky if you couldn't tell already icon_wink.gif . Well, if anyone has any questions about the test itself then ask away. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

    Im sitting the exam in 2 weeks time - any hints ? how many questions ? How long ? etc etc...More info the better please !!

    congrats on the pass.

    is a week really long enough for 216, though? i think i remember reading how some experienced techs can spend up to six months at it.

    Well done on the MCSA
    Did you get any stuff from MS yet? I still haven't got anything from them and I so want that lapel pin!! When I bought some merchandise from the MS shop it came 2 days later so why can't they send me my pin in 4 weeks?

    curio, I got my MCP stuff in the mail some time ago. I imagine it will be around a month before I get my MCSA stuff from them, although it might be ever longer than that. It shouldn't be too long before they send me my MCSE stuff too. icon_wink.gif

    If you really want to understand Active Directory, I would get Active Directory by Robbie Allen. It's an O'Reilly book that goes into great detail on the subject. It really helped me understand the topic and has helped me on all my Microsoft exams. The ISBN is 0-596-00466-4. It is definitely a book that you can't go wrong with.

    My Very fiirst post here so it may take me a while to feel out the site and get the swing of things, I stumbled upon it looking for info on hints for 70-218 I will be taking it tomorrow afternoon ,, and once passed i will be going for the best next friday ,, i see You passed ,, so how did it feel? was it as convoluted as the other MS exams??
