Ok,

Well since last year I have been studying my Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Engineering in Melb, Australia.

This is a 2 year course and im currently in the last year.

I made a decision early this year to drop my programming class as i was not very good at it, plus i hated every single bit of it. (JAVA, C) Becasue i dropped the class, i was not eligable to get my Advanced Diploma. So i decided to get Industry Certifications. My course covers all material for A+, CCNA, CCNP (BSCI), MCSA. So since then i have done my

-HP IT Essentials I&II
-CCNA
-MCP 70-270

What i am confused about is, ive been looking for jobs, and everythign i look for requires at least some kind of experience. I would love to just get some kind of level 1 Desktop support/Help desk, but i cant at all, becasue they all want experience in that position. All the jobs that ask for CCNA's all must have some experience needed too!

So im confused in the sense that, was there any point of me studying for my CCNA and MCP, and getting those certs? Becasue i cant even find a job becasue i have no experience. Should i go back and finish my Advanced Diploma?
Studying: 70-290, CCNP 1, CCSP 1

First of all....where and how are you getting the impression that 'you have to have experience'? Simply the job ad says so? Or from the hiring manager?

You have to understand that job ads are not contract conditions, you dont get your CCNA, 1-2 year experience and then you get the job. They are requirements for the job. If you see an ad that asks for 1-2 years of experience, you can still apply, there's a good chance 1-2 years means little or NO experience. Of course, 4-7 years means you HAVE experience, so those are the kind of jobs you probably shouldnt apply for unless if you have the experience.

If the hiring manager is telling you that you dont have experience, maybe that's just an excuse. Did you consider the interview process? your resume or cover letter, how about follow-up after the interview? If experience was really that important, you might not have gotten that interview, so perhaps there was something else to fix instead of just trying to get more experience.

Education is a tricky one, it depends on what kind of hiring manager you come across, some see it as a waste of time if you can make it up with something else. Others think it's like knowing how to open a door, you have to have it. If you're a few credits shy, and it sounds like you only need one course, I think you have all the reasons to finish it and get your diploma.

ps. Java and C REALLY isnt that bad, wait till you have to do SmallTalk in Squeak or VDHL on eprom. oh....boy....
