HELLLLLP!! I have failed the Net+ exam twice. I used exam cram and a Sybex book. I also utilized serveral practice tests. I can't understand what my problem is. I have spent several hundred dollars on study materials but I still come up short. I have been reading several of the posts to try to get some pointers but I am considering taking the two A+ tests because I can't seem to pass Net+. I have been in the business for about 20 years and understand some of the concepts, obviously not the rights ones. Any ideas?

boyles23 Member Posts: 130What were you making on the practice test? I was hitting between 85-100 on practice test when I passed my A+ and Network+. I would recommend taking practice tests from this site and mcmcse.com because they seem to be pretty good. I only used the Mike Meyers AIO for my A+ and Net+, I thought they covered alot and I have about a year experience in networking and about 2 years in pc repair. I would go over the exam objectives from comptia and make sure you know all of them. Here is the link and you will see "download objectives" on the left side.

Read just the Meyers N+ book, highlight, and make detailed flash cards and you will pass.
You can also go to http://www.techweb.com/encyclopedia
to supplement what you read. -

hatchell14, dont give up just yet. Reflect your study strategy, where do you think it went wrong? Have you looked at the technotes here:

I am using those, the Meyers Certification Passport for Network+, and Data Communications & network by Mcgraw hill, it was my textbook for Intro to Networking & Data Comm.

I was only getting 70s and 80s on my practice tests and now I see that was not good enough. I have since downloaded the objectives. Thanks for the quick response and also I just ordered Mike Meyers AIO. -

I have just looked at the technotes and have purchased Mike Meyers book. I will not give up because my goal is to have Net+ & A+ before I go to the middle east to support the "War on Terror"! -

barryjohns Member Posts: 3 ■□□□□□□□□□I've just completed my network+ with a distance learning company. I tried going through books, mock exams and so on with little joy so i found a company on the web and called them up and passed with e-learning software to my surprise!
If your still not having much like, like myself at this point then i'd suggest trying e-learning.
i went with www.learnitonline.co.uk they did a really good deal for me.
I hope this helps
