picture inside bridge cabin
still have the rack and the UPS at work (ups has had new batteries since then)
shows the bridge cabin when partially raised to let boats go under
(bridge goes up , bridge goes down , rack and equipment go bounce a few times at least every day)

Nice set up. I can see you went for a very cost-effective solution. I hope to do the same when I decided to go for my CCNP. By the way, you really have a small desk. I wonder how do you type. -

Noting that its a 12U rack with a laptop on top of it he may very well be standing.
BTW they make a Laptop shelf for the top of those Dantek Racks:

TIA568B Member Posts: 31 ■■□□□□□□□□As for the cage nut, I just popped it in, I will have to youtube your procedure with a screwdriver, just in case I get what your saying and to confirm I didn't do my initial mount wrong.
I'm loving those Skeletek racks, unfortunately they don't seem to be readily available in the UK. I've got a pretty heavy duty 12U rack, but it doesn't have an open back so it's not great for a lab (a freebie from my last workplace!) so I ended up buying a cheap open equipment rack meant more for DJ stuff, I'll post a pic as soon as I find or buy mounts for my 2501 (probably just as cheap to buy a replacement).Certs:

NOC-Ninja Member Posts: 1,403I use my desktop to cli into my switches. The laptop is there for watching videos. I might go for a full blown lab soon. I'm having lots of problems with GNS3.
I can type on the table with no problem. All I need is my wrist at the edge of the table.lol but I do need a better table. -

If you were anything like me (and it seems like a lot of people are the same), you like a nice and tidy rack (no pun intended, wait, maybe a little).2017 Certification Goals:

You can achieve a tidy rack without a patch panel. In fact, it's just one more point of failure (8 to be exact). Unless you have multiple racks or an mdf/idf in your home then why terminate to a panel? Just go straight for the gold. -
alxx Member Posts: 755Looking through the thread not many people with fibre connections
Just got a 3550-fx so need to get a few patches to connect it to my 2950 switches
Need a couple of mtrj to mtrj for the fx to 2950fx's , then an sc to sc for the gbic to 2950sx
I'd love to properly tidy up the cable mess at work in our server rack but I'm not the admin so not allowed to touch it
(had a power outage today and our admin hadn't plugged our main switch or a couple of servers into the ups only dirty power
also using ancient dumb power board not a proper rack pdu )Goals CCNA by dec 2013, CCNP by end of 2014 -
