Cisco 2500 Partition 2

I'm trying to erase a partition on a new router. Its partition 2 in the flash, but I can't erase it because its READ ONLY.

No partition flash 2 8 8 won't work because I need to remove partition 2 but its read only.

Anyway I can change partition 2 to read/write?

I'm guessing this is a 2500 router. Change your config register to 0x2101 and reboot into boot mode. Then see if your partitions aren't read/write.

The reason that partition is read only is because the 2500 runs the IOS from flash and that partition contains your active IOS.
