Check out the infamous CCNA FAQ here. Make sure you read EVERYTHING. There're so much information about it, you dont want to miss out. Get yourself a book if you can, and start reading. Depending on your experience and knowledge, all that reading could take a while.

Get yourself an account with cisco.com (its free), and start reading their documentation, and CCNA prep.

I love talking about CCNA , I can tell you I'm a fun.Let's start :
CCNA is I think the best ( or one of the best ) solution/solution's for aquaring a strong networking fundation. You'll learn here ( if you learn ) many useful thing's ( but many , many ).It's not an obligation to have a small networking base.. you can start from zero. This is CCNA big atuu that you can start from zero. When I started CCNA , I even don't know how to send a e-mail ...( you got the idea.. ).
How can you take CCNA ? ( very simple , but requires a lot of work , atraction , practising and especialy learning ..).
: www.cisco.com :
: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/netacad/course_catalog/CCNA.html : check this to ..
then you can use forum's like this one , to ask question and share your knolednge with other's.
Join an local or regional Academy.
You can .. learn from book's (pdf) if you want : Self-Studies , Sybex or Exam Cram'.s.
If you don't have a lab ( or even a rented one ) you can use program's ( emulation's ) to get the real thing ( I learned in this way ) : Pachet Tracer v 3.2 , Boson , NetSim , and a lot more.
It a harder exam , coz you cannot go back when anqering a question , it has many tricky question and fishy SIMS.
Good luck dude !
