Was a good bloke, amusing to watch.Foolproof systems don't take into account the ingenuity of fools -
sprkymrk Member Posts: 4,884 ■■■□□□□□□□It sounds like he went down doing what he loved.
He was filming another documentary. His son is only 2. Anyone know how old his other child is?

Ricka182 Member Posts: 3,359It is sad......I said the same thing for that Grizzly-Man guy who lived with wild bears...eventually, they found the remains of what the bears didn't eat......but seriously, what do you expect when you play with wild animals. I understand Steve wasn't playing with the Ray at the time, but still....that guy was nuts, completely nuts! I did enjoy the show a few times nonetheless, I'm sure he was a good man, he shall be missed..
RIP, Crikey!!!i remain, he who remains to be.... -

Everyone in my family loved his show, our condolences to his wife, daughter, son and family. I wonder if they will ever show the incident? CNN says there's footage of the attack!

strauchr Member Posts: 528 ■■■□□□□□□□I was surprised at how much international coverage this got. He was cringeworthy to watch for all Australians as he took our image back 50 years but he was a great bloke and did a lot for the animals and the environment.
He used his fame and money to further his causes and didn't have a bad bone in his body.
He was a great Australian that we should all be proud of. -
Danman32 Member Posts: 1,243I was annoyed with one of the networks that kept putting on the debate they had with him about him bringing in his youngest to a crock show. Most inappropriate.
He died doing what he loved, but it stinks that he died via a normally docile, mostly harmless animal. If it was a dangerous animal, that would have made sense.
