Networking Tool Most in Use in the real world

Hi Everyone,

Which networking analysis tool do you recommend to get familiar with for a CCNA currently shopping for jobs such as 1st line network support or NOC environment ETC.

I am based in the UK

    ethereal is a great freebie tool - it's widely used

    Wireshark is a good network analyzer
    SolarWinds is a very popular Network Performance Monitor
    WhatsUpGold is a good piece of software for ping (network up or down)

    I don't know how popular they are but here are a few freebie tools I've used in my job: Netstumbler (tracking wireless), Qcheck (check throughput and bandwidth), and Angry IPscanner (scan ip ranges for active devices). I didn't know how popular What's Up Gold is but we use it at work to monitor all of our access points, routers, switches, and servers- it is a good tool.
