What about 218??

I've just browsed over the MCDBA requirements and 70-290 can be used as an elective but 70-218 cannot? Aren't these tests the same thing besides one is 2000 and the other is 2003??? I'm confused??

Isn't 290 the equivilant of 218 for 2003?

Yes it is the equivalent but it can't be used as an elective. Looks like the most recent Network Environment exam always qualifies as a core network exam (i.e. before 2003 rolled out, NT's Network Environment exam or equivalent didn't qualify for MCDBA2k), though I don't understand why that is so. I'm doing 290, although I'm thinking of waiting till the Installing & Configuring exam for win2003 is added to the track.

Thanks for the feed back. I guess I'm just gonna have to tackle all three then. Hey its not that bad just another 700pg book to read.

But at least you get the extra knowledge......something you can never complain about.

I'm gonna take my i-net+ on wed. then its off to learning SQL.
