How often does CCNA update?

So it appears CCNA exam has not been updated in over 3 years....Should we expect a update any time soon?

It hasn't had a major overhaul, but the focus has evolved. For example, IPX routing has been dropped (though you are still to know of the very basics of protocol), as has commands from the 1900 series switch. Even IGRP is pretty much dropped.

Thanks for the reply. I guess my main concern is I do not want to spend 400-500 in a hands on lab and then the equipment be useless for the exam. Assuming I purchased 2x2503 routers and a 3950 switch, will these hold their weight through a update? Or should I not even be worried about it....

The exam focuses more on the 2950 rather than the 3950. For the router, the focus is more on the IOS. I believe the test uses 12.2.
