IT Mnemonics

What mnemonics have you come accross or used during your study and/or work?

Someone mentioned the other day for remembering the OSI model:

***I'll add you can Capitalize the word 'I' to show a little respect for yourself too.

    'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?

When this Pluto thing broke, people started recounting the acronyms (not mnemonics) they used to remember the order of the planets. The one I learned when I was five years old was:

    Mercury
    Venus
    Earth
    Mars
    Jupiter
    Saturn
    Uranus
    Neptune
    Pluto

Using the actual names of the items always seems to work best for me. The same is true of the names of the OSI layers and the resistor color codes (e.g., 0=black, 1=brown, 2=red, etc.). People remember lists in different ways best, I guess.

I can't take credit for these, but:

    Planets:
My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pumpkins (Or, I suppose, Pizzas)

    OSI layers:
Please Do Not Tell Sales People Anything

    Most of the BGP best-path:

    We - Weight
Love - Locally Originated + Local Pref (these are two different things)
    Algorithms - AS-Path
    On - Origin
    My - MED
    Router - Router-ID
(If anyone can add to the BGP one, please do!)
