ambiguous scsi question on the practice exam

taking your practice test and a SCSI question reared its ugly head, I hope the actual exam is Not as ambiguous as your practice exam-SCSI-question; Fast SCSI and Wide SCSI are variants of SCSI-2. Fast SCSI can have upto 8 devices(7 without the adapter)...Am I correct?
Wide SCSI-the other variant of SCSI-2 can have upto 16 devices (including the adapter)
So, asking this question(pasted below) only within the realm of "SCSI-2" is ambiguous...Yet b. is incorrect...my question is why??

Which of the following are true concerning SCSI?

a. You are able to connect up to 15 different devices to a single SCSI-2 host adapter....umm yess...not counting the adapter
b. You are able to connect up to 7 different devices to a single SCSI-2 host adapter. umm yess?...not counting the adapter...it says so Here: http://www.techexams.net/technotes/scsi.shtml
"Fast
SCSI ->SCSI-2<- 8 8 bits 10 MHz 10 MB/s
Wide
SCSI ->SCSI-2<- 16 16 bits 5 MHz 10 MB/s"

thanks.

    Ah the tricky SCSI question again, here's a longer explanation from 3 years ago:

    I have to say, when taking a look at that post from 3 years ago, since you put it that way; scsi-2 "can" support "up to" 16 devices. Here is another question from the same test:
    Which of the following are true concerning Fast SCSI-2?
    you did not specify wide in the last question and you did not specify it here, though scsi-2 'can' have a 16-bit bus, but this answer is not a correct choice. Maybe if you narrowed it down by specifying how many choices to choose so we eliminate the lesser of the relevant choices..sorry, I think your provoking more research and thought on these subjects the way these questions are posed, which helps bury this deep into our thick skulls and I thank you for that.
    Peace! :)

    You're welcome ;) It shows how important it is to read the questions (on the actual exam as well) very carefully. Especially when they 'seem' ambigious there's usually one or more words that makes all the difference.
