Does SRAM need Refreshing ?

Is Sram the type of Ram that doesn't
need refreshing, or is it ROM the type of
Ram that doesn't need refreshing. What
other types of Memory doesn't need refreshing
and what are there other advantages. thanks

SRAM stands for static random access memory. The word static means that it does not change until you logically change it. Dynamic random access memory needs refreshing as the word dynamic means constantly changing in this context. Static RAM uses flip flops or latches where as dynamic RAM relies on parasitic or interelectrode capacitance to control conduction or lack of conduction by a single transistor. The storage cell is therefore like a leakly water bucket sitting in a tub (actually a charge builds up which must be periodlically removed by refresh).

ROM is not RAM, different principals. Flash memory does not need refresh, nor do magnetic memories (core and bubble) but they are pretty much obsolete.
