When are they change to A+ Essentials?

I'm new in here. I have a question. I study A+ core right now. I'm planning to take A+ core around Nov. My question is when are they change to A+ Essentials? Because I don't want to study new material while I study A+ core right now. Please give me some advice. Thank you so much!!!1

The old A+ exams are being retired on 12/31/2006. After that, you have to take the "A+ Essentials" exam, and then choose one of the electives.
