What are the minimum requirements for windows as far as comptia is concerned. I have installed 95a on a laptop with 8 megs of ram and have heard that it will "work" on even 4 megs. Myers book says 24 meg mcmcse.com says 16 meg....

    Here's what I've found on win95 requirements.

    486/33 based PC or better
    8 MB of RAM
Typical hard disk space required to upgrade to Windows 95: 35-40 MB. Typical hard disk space required to install Windows 95 on a clean system: 50-55 MB The actual requirement varies depending on the features you choose to install.
    a double speed CD-ROM drive.
    3.5-inch high-density floppy disk drive

Monitor-VGA or higher resolution (256-color SVGA recommended)

50MB of HDD Disk Space for Clean Install, 35-40 for Upgrade
    80386DX (80486 Recommended)
4MB of Ram (8 MB min recommended)

For Windows 95 Specifically, the KB Article is 138349
The link below is a link to Win95 and more.
Hopefully this article clears up much of the confusion.

That is a link to setup requirements for most of the Microsoft Operating systems less Windows XP.
