CCNA designation questions
andrew132039
Just a couple of general questions. To achieve a CCNA designation must you complete both the CCNA 640-801 and CCDA exams? Last year I self studied for the ICND course (approximately one month), however I did not take the test. Last week I took the CCNA boot camp course and immediately wrote the 640-801 exam the next day. I did not pass, on this first attempt however I know where I went wrong (despite testing centres technical problems in being unable to provide exam breakdown). I am into a disciplined 2 week study period and will re-write (and pass) the second time arround in a couple of weeks. Then its on to the CCDA course which I must complete prior to the end of February next year. All of this so that I can do some Cisco Wireless courses that have pre-reqs of CCNA and CCDA. Despite not being directly involved in the IT industry, I find this education extremely interesting. Also, technology is moving at such a rapid pace we have no choice but to get educated in these areas.

CCDA is a completely different certification than CCNA. You don't need the one to complete the other. Both certs require a separate single exam.
